Mohack Meeting February 5th
A message from a good friend in Shacklewell:
“Comrades, the Tories never give up power voluntarily. They represent the financial and corporate elite and they know a Corbyn led government will not be business as usual for them. To win a general election before 2021 will require the sort of public mobilisation Labour is unused to organising. So it’s down to the left, Momentum’s members and others to build the movement for an election. If we can win support from NEC members and left union leaders all the better, but the campaign needs to start now otherwise the lure of some easy but illusory fix like a ‘people’s vote’ will gather traction.”
– John Calderon, Shacklewell.
MoHackers. Please join us:
Tuesday 5th February, 7pm sharp, at the Pembury Centre, E8 1FA
We will make time in this meeting to…
– Form working groups we envisage will be borne from members’ recent priority setting. Topics so far identified: BAME representation; Hosting New Models of Ownership; Political Seminars and deciding on speakers we know and love.
– Show support for, learn from and work with local groups.
– And, mindful of John’s call to mobilise, hosts have come forward to set up phone-banking sessions. Please join one. We want to reconnect with members, revive our contact lists, and reach out further afield.
Let’s crack on.
